About ATI Wah Chang - Environmental Inc. Midwest Laboratory

ATI Wah Chang Environmental Inc. Midwest Laboratory (EIML), has conducted radiological monitoring programs since 1969. EIML performs radiochemical analysis of air, water, milk, food crops, vegetation, soil, sediment, animals and aquatic life samples collected near nuclear facilities and environmental sites to monitor for potential releases of radioactivity

The laboratory is staffed, qualified and equipped to provide a full spectrum of radiometric analysis with the most current procedures and techniques. EIML's capabilities include a full range of highly sophisticated instrumentation available for radiochemical analyses.

EIML currently performs radiological environmental monitoring for over 20 nuclear power plants in 11 states and is an approved vendor for supply of services to the Illinois EPA. In addition, the laboratory is certified to perform analysis of drinking water for radio nuclides in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. EIML maintains a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Program based on 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B and Reg. Guide 4.15.

EIML’s staff is experienced not only in the analysis of various radiological parameters from a variety of sources, but can design custom environmental programs to meet customer requirements, perform field collections, and produce interpretive reports based on the data obtained.
