Environmental Policy Statement

It is Allegheny Technologies Incorporated's policy to continue to maintain and operate all its businesses in compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations and permits.  We recognize the need to protect the environment and the importance of the measured and efficient use of the earth's natural resources.  We take an active role in discovering and implementing means to protect our environment and our natural resources, which enables better use of resources and sustainability.

Consistent with this policy, ATI Wah Chang commits to:

• Comply with applicable local, state and federal environmental regulations, operating permits and other requirements.
• Continually improve the environmental performance of our products and processes.
• Protect the health and safety of our employees and surrounding communities and ecosystems with a commitment to pollution prevention.
• Use natural resources, including raw materials, energy and water as efficiently as possible
• Implement continuous environmental improvement practices that, among other things, increase stakeholder awareness.

ATI Wah Chang will work to achieve these commitments by:

• Requiring environmental training of ATI Wah Chang employees.
• Mandating environmental compliance and awareness training for contractors whose work may affect the significant environmental aspects and impacts at the facility.
• Setting objectives and targets through the evaluation of risks to the environment at significant stages of our product's life, placing priority on environmental impacts present during our production process.
• Working collaboratively with our customers, and suppliers on environmental issues, and responding to community inquiries about chemicals and our operations.
• Measuring continuous improvement efforts to maximize recycling and reuse; and reduce, prevent, or eliminate environmental impacts of the company's employees, operations and/or products while maintaining an appropriate balance between environmnetal goals and economic health of the company.

Environmental performance, improvement, and responsiveness are an integral part of our business activities, including management and employee participation and commitment.  To this end, we will address these environmental policy elements as part of the ATI Wah Chang Albany annual business plan, and associated monitoring and measurement programs.
